Organize
the campus around a series of neighborhood activity nodes
interconnected by a strong pedestrian and open space system (similar
to the principles of the current master plan).
Reserve
land adjacent to the library for future academic/research needs.
Establish
strong open space and pedestrian linkages to the expanding residential
and academic neighborhoods to the south and north, respectively.
Develop
a secondary student union/activity center within the expanding
academic neighborhood to the north and west, possibly in conjunction
with renovation/expansion of the Paul McDermott Physical Education
Building.
Establish
three external loop roads to provide efficient vehicular access from
the surrounding public street system, ideally providing access to
future parking decks.
Accent
the Maryland Parkway main entrance with a new academic building
(remove Maude Frazier Hall).
Consolidate
campus support service around the existing Campus Services Building.
